Techniques We Use

Upper cervical chiropractic is a highly specialized technique that focuses specifically on the atlas bone or C1, which connects the head and the neck. When the atlas is out of its proper position, the head moves off center of the body. This creates body imbalance from head to toe and restricts/distorts vital messages from the brain to every part of the body. Nerve distortion and body imbalance can lead to a large variety of health problems and pain. The NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association) technique very precisely and gently corrects the misalignment of the atlas. Body balance is restored and nerve impulses transmit clearly giving the body a chance to heal.

BEST (bio-energetic synchronization technique) and NET (neuro-emotional technique) are energy balancing/clearing techniques. They help to release old traumas and current stresses. They help the body process and integrate the structural changes brought about by the upper cervical correction.

Instrument adjusting is a hand held machine called the impulse adjuster from Neuromechanical Innovations. The machine sounds like a typewriter but functions more like a jackhammer as it taps along the spine. The tapping is adjusting and realigning the vertebrae of the spine which helps restore brain/body communication.

Traditional chiropractic adjustments realign the spine and improve nervous system communication throughout the body with a bit more focus than the other techniques. These adjustments are primarily done in the thoracic spine (middle back). Neck and low back adjustments/cracks are rarely if ever necessary or performed.
